Hezbollah: 27 November deal covers area south of the Litani

Hezbollah sources told Al Mayadeen the 27 November agreement covers the area from south of the Litani to occupied Palestine, reaffirming the group’s defense stance.

Hawzah News Agency- The director of Al Mayadeen’s Beirut office, citing reliable sources, said the resistance in Lebanon regards the 27 November agreement as applying to the area extending “from south of the Litani to the borders of occupied Palestine''.

The same sources told Al Mayadeen that remarks by Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem were not aimed at any domestic Lebanese faction but were instead “a message directed outward''.

In recent comments, Hezbollah’s leader reiterated the group’s stance on arms and resistance, saying that “intimidation and pressure will not change our position. We will defend our land, our people, and our dignity, and we will not leave the future of our generations to the arrogant powers and their agents''. He added firmly that “we will not abandon our weapons that enable us to defend our land and our people''.

The statements underline Hezbollah’s continued insistence on retaining its weapons as a deterrent and a means of defense, and reflect the movement’s interpretation of the November accord as covering the strategic strip south of the Litani River up to the internationally contested border with occupied Palestine.

Opening his address, Sheikh Qassem invoked the words of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah: “When We Are Martyred, We Triumph''. He said that martyrs reject humiliation and choose to live freely and honourably.

Commemorating Martyr Ahmad Qassir, whose martyrdom operation targeted the Israeli occupation's military governor headquarters, Sheikh Qassem hailed him as a symbol of sacrifice and divine purpose.

Martyr Ahmad Qassir’s operation, which resulted in 76 Israeli deaths and 118 injuries, shook the occupying entity’s morale and laid the foundation for its eventual retreat. “He taught us with his blood, nurtured us through his sacrifice, and paved the way toward Allah, dignity, and liberation'', Sheikh Naim said.
